One of the most priorities in our organization is medicine. Millions of Ukrainians have needed medical help since Feb 24. Hospitals were out of supplies and it was almost impossible to deliver anything to fierce fighting areas. Thanks to the brave volunteers in Ukraine who find the ways to deliver the essentials, our team was focused on collecting medicine and care under fire because this can save lives if delivered on time. We were urged to make this one our priority. Help Ukraine Now is working in multiple directions :
- Connecting with hospitals in the USA. We were thrilled to get a $5 000 donation from our friends in Blessings International. All of the medical necessities like antibiotics, care under fire, painkillers, and Covid prevention supplies were sent right away and are helping 1000 people today.
- Connecting with hospitals in Ukraine. As many of you know, logistics from California to Ukraine is a really long distance. And we wanted to make sure that we ship the most needed medications. Hospitals in Ukraine provide us with the most updated lists of urgent needs. Many San Diegans and some organizations donated a lot of supplies and we were able to ship over 9 000 medical supplies.
- We are focusing on purchasing care under fire and medical equipment. This month we were able to sponsor 250 CAT tourniquets from North American Rescue of a total payment of $6 000. Now our team is connecting with hospitals where the medical equipment is needed the most.
