Delivering protection vests for female volunteers and fighters

Women now account for about 22 percent of Ukraine’s military. A year ago females mostly served in support roles as medics or cooking staff. Today you see women drivers, mechanics, machine gunners, and commanders among other things. In the photo is my friend Katia who is a mother and a wife. She is also one of the active members of the territorial defense unit in my hometown. Her job is to provide the running of the office and to make sure that internally displaced people who came to Bila Tserkva running from bombings get humanitarian aid and support necessary among other things. The protective vests that I am passing on to her are of very low protection and cannot save lives unless it is a very distant shooting. We need better protection for people to save the lives of other people.

On a personal level, I am happy to be home and with the people I love. Take good care of your loved ones and your friends.
