Celebrating San Diegans in their Help to Ukraine

Only a few days after the brutal full-scale war started in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, local San Diego Ukrainians united around the humanitarian relief movement to help Ukrainians in Ukraine suffering from the war actions of the Russian Federation. What started with around ten people meeting at one of the Ukrainian’s living rooms for planning turned into a movement of hundreds of San Diegans gathering around the activists and collecting tons of humanitarian aid. Also, this movement led to registering “Help Ukraine Now” as a non-profit organization.

The first shipment of the relief was delivered to Los Angeles on March 5, 2022, to be flown to Poland and then transported with trucks to Ukraine. During the first weeks of the war, the group of volunteers was collecting food, hygiene products, medicine, and big hospital donations of medical supplies. San Diegans truly impressed us with the unity and care that they provided to the Ukrainian community. Not only did they bring donations of supplies and money, but we're also eager to host Ukrainian people in their homes. Our hearts are full of gratitude for the assistance that the sunny people of San Diego provided for the nation in need.

Help Ukraine Now has been registered as a non-profit EIN 88-1095749. Gifts and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by IRS regulations.
