Who We Are
Born from the urgency of the moment, Help Ukraine Now is a Ukrainian-American non-profit founded in March 2022, just days after the full-scale invasion. Our mission is direct: to provide critical, on-the-ground support to Ukrainians fighting for their freedom.
What began as a protest chant — "Help Ukraine Now!" — became our name and our promise. It's a constant reminder of the urgency of our work and the real people whose lives depend on it. We identify the most pressing needs and move quickly to meet them, serving as a direct line of support to the front lines of democracy.
Our Impact in Numbers
Every number represents a life changed, a community supported, or a step towards victory.
What We Do
Our work is focused on providing direct, impactful aid where it's needed most.

Lifesaving Medical Aid
We supply critical medical equipment and training to keep individuals serving on the front lines, journalists, and civilians alive when seconds count. Our efforts ensure emergency personnel and hospitals have what they need to respond to injuries and provide urgent care.
- First Aid & Trauma Supplies: We've delivered over 1000 CAT tourniquets and hundreds of high-quality first-aid kits (including 440 individual kits via Serhiy Prytula Foundation) to individuals on the front lines and emergency medical personnel.
- Hospital Generators: To combat blackouts, we've funded multiple hospital generators through UNITED24, providing over $133,000 to ensure critical ICU and surgical equipment remains operational, including direct delivery to a Kherson front-line medical unit.
- "Stop the Bleeding" Training: We're funding intensive training sessions in Ukraine to teach over 500 volunteers, journalists, and activists how to control critical hemorrhage and respond effectively under fire.

Targeted Humanitarian Aid & Essential Procurement
Our focus is on strategically funding and procuring high-priority supplies directly within Ukraine and Europe - eliminating costly trans-Atlantic shipping and ensuring rapid distribution through our network of vetted Ukrainian partners. We deliver essential relief, focusing on critical needs for civilians and all individuals affected by the conflict.
- Initial Aid Shipments & Ongoing Winter Relief: While we initially organized tons of general aid shipments from San Diego in March 2022, our current approach for ongoing winter relief involves direct procurement within Europe and Ukraine. Our 'Warm Up Ukraine' campaign has provided hundreds of thermal underwear sets and winter relief kits to displaced families and individuals enduring extreme cold.
- Vehicles for Aid & Evacuation: We've procured multiple critical vehicles, including a transport van for aid delivery to eastern Ukraine and a 4x4 Chevrolet Silverado for evacuations and humanitarian aid runs in the Kherson region. We also donated two Mitsubishi L200 pickups for demining support.
- Communications & Power: We've supplied vital Starlink satellite terminals for internet connectivity in affected areas, alongside power banks, radios, and EcoFlow high-capacity battery stations to keep volunteer teams and essential services connected.

Community Safety & Reconstruction
We support vital safety initiatives and contribute to Ukraine's long-term recovery by rebuilding essential infrastructure and protecting communities from explosive hazards.
- Protective Gear & Uniforms: We address critical needs by delivering items like 200 NATO-standard uniform sets to individuals serving in high-risk areas, enhancing their safety and morale, including specific initiatives to address shortages for female personnel.
- Equipment for Surveying & Safety: HUN has provided over 45 advanced drones (including DJI Mavics) for surveying affected areas, assisting in locating and aiding wounded individuals, and for essential minefield monitoring operations.
- Demining & School Reconstruction: We've committed $135,000 to demining operations across three regions of Ukraine - a crucial 'phase zero' for recovery and making land safe for communities. We've also pledged $100,000 at the UNITED24 summit to rebuild the Velykokostroma school, a vital step in restoring education and normalcy for hundreds of children.
